Rain-out cost me over $100

My rating is based on my one negative experience. I live in Kansas city and due to bad weather, our float trip was cancelled (the lady renting the canoe called to tell us the morning of our scheduled trip that she would not rent a canoe to us because of the storm). Wild Oaks said their policy mandates that all cancellations are made within 10 days advance. So, without even stepping foot in our cabin, it cost us $106.25. I feel very ripped off.

Our Response:

Wildoaks strives to bring excellent customer service for all our guests, and are disappointed to have fallen short with Ester's experience.

We do have a ten day cancellation policy, clearly stated on our website. We have this policy due to supply and demand; we only have 7 cabins, two with bathrooms, and many calls a day for families wanting to camp at our campground with all our family -friendly amenities.

Having said all that, as for this situation, according to Ester and the river outfiitter she called them on the way down from KC, it was raining, they decided to cancel her float trip, but she never called to cancel her cabin with us. We waited in the office for her arrival that day, with a no-call/no-show, this cost us time and money. Therefore, as stated in our cancellation policy, she was charged a one night deposit.

Please understand, had we received a call that morning, we could have been more flexible in this situation. Most all hospitality industry ask for a 24 hour courtesy call is required for a refund. We did offer her a coupon for "buy one night/ get one free" to make up her loss, however she refused the offer.

Great Time!

We camped out at Wild Oaks over Labor Day weekend 2017 and it was amazing!! Very clean, very friendly! This will be where we go for our annual family float trip every year!!

We were very happy with the cabin we stayed in. It was so much nicer than we were expecting. The beds were thick pillowtops and very comfortable. The whole cabin was clean, there were shades on the windows, a card table inside and 2 wooden picnic tables outside. My grandkids really liked the swimming pool and the various play areas. On top of all this, I thought the rates were very reasonable. We liked it so much we wanted to stay an extra night but were unable to as our cabin was already rented out for the next night. I will definitely stay at Wild Oaks again!

This place will always be #1 for us!!! Great family atmosphere and great food!! They always have fun activites and easy access to the river when ever we want to go floating!! My family love it here and I never have to worry cause we have The Time Of Our Life At Wild Oaks Campground!!!

By far the best place to stay at Bennett. The owners make you feel so welcome. I won't stay at any other place!!!!

This is our first time coming here and this is the first time I have ever left a review for anything, but the owners of Wild Oaks deserve it. We were a little hesitant about coming here because we have always gone to Bennett Springs Park to camp. I have to say coming here was an excellent decision. The gentleman who runs the campgrounds went out of his way to make sure everyone had an enjoyable time. On Saturday there was a band that played and on Sunday he showed a kids movie. While the movie was going on he walked around and handed out popcorn to everyone who watched the movie. We brought our dog and it worked out well because they have a fenced in dog area. I was able to take her off the leash and let her get exercise. I LOVE that! When we first arrived we needed a couple of things and he got right on it.The people who camped here were fellow families and it was a nice atmosphere where my kids could play on their awesome playground and I didn't have to worry that something would happen to them. Everyone was wonderful. They have ice cream at a great rate and a low-cost menu of munchies. And their bathrooms were very nice. And they had hot water! For free! This camping trip is an annual event for my family and I know where we will go every year. I highly recommend Wild Oaks. It's a great place where you will make friends and more importantly, memories.

Awesome place!!!

We have been coming here for 4 years! The owners are so nice and were very helpful our first time here when our pop up camper failed to raise and level the owner came with a 2x4 and a saw to level it to the correct height. Since then we checked out their cabins and decided to rent as they are air conditioned. We bring several families with us now every year we regroup and have an awesome time. The live music and food at the Cafe was awesome as well. Very friendly family atmosphere?!

“Good Family place to stay near Bennett Springs and Niangua River”

We have stayed at the WO Campground for 3 years. Each summer our families and friends choose here. It is very family friendly. There are cabins for a great rate for 4 up to 10 people. There is plenty of space for RV's and tents. There is a nice outdoor pool and game room. The cafe serves good food from breakfast until dinner on the weekends. On most Friday nights in the summer, they have movies and popcorn for the campsite and on Saturdays a live bind. The owners and staff are very accommodating.Room Tip: We have stayed in 3 different cabins and all are nice. The camp is quiet at night.Stayed July 2016, traveled with family
